Privacy Policy for DriftMind

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what the DriftMind apps store, what they send off your device, and the choices you have. It covers the DriftMind app for iPhone (with its Apple Watch app and widgets) and the DriftMind app for Android. DriftMind is published by Hypnosis and Subliminal LLC.

The two apps work differently, so each has its own section below. DriftMind does not have user accounts, does not show ads and does not sell your information.

DriftMind for iPhone

Information stored on your device

The iPhone app keeps the following on your device, in the app's own storage:

• Your first name, if you enter one, and your onboarding answers: experience level, goals, challenges, content preferences, preferred listening times and reminder settings
• Mood check-ins, including optional notes, and journal entries you write
• Listening history, favorites, playlists, program progress, streaks, levels, achievements and statistics
• Downloaded audio, if you choose to download recordings

Your mood notes and journal text are not sent to us or to any analytics service. Widgets and the Apple Watch app read this information on your devices so they can display it.

Information sent for analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

The iPhone app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. It sends:

• App events: opening the app, screens viewed, onboarding steps and your onboarding answers (experience level, goals, challenges, content preferences, preferred times and whether you want reminders), recordings viewed, started, completed or favorited (with duration and completion percentage), streaks, levels, XP and achievements
• Mood check-in values: the mood level and emotion you select, and before-and-after mood changes around a session. It records only whether a note exists, never the note itself
• Information Google Analytics collects automatically: an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system and app version, approximate region derived from your network, and app engagement and session timing

This information is not linked to your name, email or payment details. Advertising features are turned off and the app does not use Apple's advertising identifier. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms.

Other iPhone features

• Face ID or Touch ID lock: if you turn it on, Apple's system checks your face or fingerprint. DriftMind never receives biometric data.
• Reminders: reminder notifications are scheduled on your device.
• Subscriptions: purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.

DriftMind for Android

The Android app has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising software, and it does not ask for your name.

Information stored on your device

• The date your seven-day trial started, your favorites, program progress, where you stopped in each recording, playback speed and background-sound levels
• A record of Google Play's most recent confirmation of your subscription, so Premium keeps working for up to three days if Google Play can't be reached
• Recently played audio, cached temporarily so it plays smoothly

This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. The app asks Google Play on your device whether you have an active DriftMind subscription. We do not receive your payment details.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Android shows playback controls in your notification shade. You can turn this off at any time in Android settings.

Audio streaming (both apps)

Recordings stream from Google's Firebase Storage and from our audio server at ember-audio.motivationalhypnotherapy.com. As with any website, these servers receive your device's IP address and the file requested so they can deliver the audio, and they may keep standard server logs for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify you.

How we use information

• To provide the app: play recordings, remember your progress and preferences, and unlock Premium
• To improve the iPhone app, using the aggregated analytics described above

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information is handled by these service providers only as described above: Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Storage), Apple (App Store purchases) and Google Play (Android purchases). We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

• Information stored on your device stays until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
• Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for the retention period set in our Analytics settings and then deleted.
• Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and reliability.

Your choices and rights

• Delete on-device data: deleting the app removes the information it stored on your device. On iPhone you can also remove downloaded audio in Profile → Downloads.
• Analytics: you can ask us to delete analytics data associated with your app installation by emailing us.
• Subscriptions: manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings (iPhone) or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions (Android).
• Notifications: turn them on or off in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and opt out of the sale of personal information; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email us at the address below.

Security

Audio and analytics are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Information on your device is protected by your device's own security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children's privacy

DriftMind is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Medical disclaimer

DriftMind is a relaxation and wellbeing app. It is not medical treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It does not replace advice from a doctor or qualified health provider. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last Updated" date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or on this page.
